It’s over three weeks and almost a month since I got my hands on the premium looking Tecno L9 Plus. I wrote the Tecno L9 Plus review about a week after handling the smartphone and there are a couple of things I now love, that didn’t find its way in the original review.
So, for the last two weeks, I have practically given the Tecno L9 Plus the most rigorous treatment, I have multitasked and gotten the AnTuTu benchmark score which we didn’t have in the original review.
Here is it;
This is not a second review of the phone, I mean we don’t do that here on the blog, but I just feel like bearing my mind, talking about the positives about the L9 Plus and where Tecno could go from here.
Firstly, I think I got used to the large display; 6-inch is a no no for me. But I subjected myself to handling the phone and after a while, I discovered it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Overtime, my hands got used to the wideness, although it slipped from hands once but no serious damage.

Only got a minor bruise which got me thinking about the toughness of the smartphone. I would say at this point that is solid and can withstand some degree of fall without shattering your screen.
The Battery…
For me, I got super excited about the 5000mAh battery and the performance has been top-notch. It’d beat my expectation, especially knowing that I have a phone and power bank with me, so I don’t get apprehensive when the lights are out and I am not close to our test lab to power my other phones.
I used the Tecno L9 Plus to watch films, listened to music, browse and do a lot of multi-taksing, including gaming… my favorite Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5 made me push the phone.
Initially, I wasn’t taking note of the battery, but it dawn on me that I could write my battery llife experience with the Phone if I am not too lazy.
so, this week…
I decided to pay attention to the battery life, got it charged to 100% which was pretty fast with the rapid technology and began the day.
As a heavy smartphone user, I began my journey with some dangerous multi-tasking and increased the brightness to 100%. I kept going and going, I even used 5% out of the battery power to fire-up my Galaxy S7 and I was still going.
From 8AM to 8PM, I was just about half of the battery power consumed. I had to do other stuff forcing to leave the phone till the next day without powering it off. I continued from where I stopped, and I was still able to squeeze 7-hours of battery power before getting to 15% where I got the battery low prompt.
With 15%, I still got 5 whooping hours of battery power, ofcourse after setting it to Ultra Power mode. Putting the maths together, I got 17 hours and about 14minutes of battery usage.
This is a wow! It beat my expectations…
There are other 5,000mAh devices, but the Tecno L9 Plus has proved to last longer than any of the 5000mAh smartphones I have handled. It is even possible you can get 3-4 days of battery power if you are not a heavy user like me.
More also, I love the fact that the heat emission on the device is very minimal. It doesn’t heat like you placed the phone on a frying pan!
The good news is that while you have a huge battery power, you are not going to spend a whole day charging the L9 Plus, thanks to Tecno’s rapid charge technology. You can get 30-35% battery power under 30minutues which is very fast.
The Super Button…
Furthermore, there is a “Super button” which I made no mention of in the L9 Plus review, I am not sure how it skipped me but the button does exist, and it’s on the left frame of the smartphone.
The Super button is designed to do some special features; you can either customize it to be your tourch button, camera button or even your Ultra Power Mode button. So it’s pretty much a multi responsibility button but can only perform one action at a time. You will decide what actions you want the button to perform in the settings panel.
Going by every standard, I can’t see where the Tecno L9 Plus has not fallen short, but there is no perfect smartphone so there could be some minor lapses here and there but generally speaking and with honesty, of course, the Tecno L9 Plus is the one device you need on your hand right now.

Thanks for sharing your experience Nosa, I have been having a hardtime making a decision between this and Gionee Marathon 6. It seems I will go with this, and the Android 7.0 is also a plus for me
