Hi pals, we would be revealing some of the outstanding things we found on the internet this week. This is the second edition of the series and we apologize for not keeping our promise to update TWF [Things We Found] section weekly.
That said, the week was not all that great, but we still managed to stumble upon some new stuffs, and I would be glad to share with you.
Like the previous edition, the list is in no order of preference. So here’s what popped up last week.
1. Aviate Launcher
we have said so much about Aviate already; it’s a fantastic app from Yahoo! The guys at Silicon Valley did everything right with Aviate, the app easily became one of our most favourite apps.
Aviate will change your default home screen into an intuitive and easy to manage home screen with a lot of functionality. You can read the Aviate Review here, if you have not already done so.
2. Google Blackout
In August 2013, Google suffered a five minutes outage which affected all of its services, this caused global Web traffic to drop by 40%.
That’s a staggering figure, if you know what I mean. Its weird being at position where you could not Google what happened to Google.
3. Wonobo
Our Indian readers should really see this as a great find. Wonobo is Google Street View alternative, covering Indian cities where Google Street View do not exist.
Currently, there are alot of cities in Wonobo, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad etc.

4. Battery With A 15-year Lifespan
Scientists at the University of Southern California developed a new type of battery that lasts five times longer than traditional lithium-ion batteries and contains no heavy metals.
One catch, though — it’s not for your smartphone. The battery was created by professor Sri Narayan and his team with the intent to revolutionize the power grid by making renewable energy more viable.
5. Background Burner
This is a magical tool that removes the background of an image online.
There is no complex skills required, all you need do, is to upload an image to Background Burner and use a paintbrush tool to select the areas you wish to keep or remove.
That’s about it, thanks for your time, and hope to see you around next week. Which of these five things really got you impressed?
