Two methods exist; the first is to buy airtime with GTB via SMS or Shortcode.
Method One – SMS
- Open the SMS app of your device
- Type Network Amount NUBAN NO
- Send SMS to 080766655555
NOTE:
- Network = Mobile Network eg. MTN, Glo
- Amount = Desired amount for top-up
- NUBAN NO = Your GTB account number
HINT: For example type in your message app, MTN 1500 8080808011 and send to 080766655555
Method Two – Shortcode
This is my favorite and one I use mostly. It should also work like a charm for you.
Dial *737*Amount#
So if you want to recharge your mobile phone with NGN1500, simply dial *737*1500#
If you want to recharge a third party line; that is to top-up another mobile number other than your own.
Simply Dial *737*Amount*MobileNumber#
Follow the wizard that will follow after it has been processed. You would be required to select a mobile network and input the last four digits of your Naira Master Card.
HINT: Ensure you are sending the SMS or shortcode with the number you used in opening your GTB account. The mobile number you normally get GTB alert and updates.
