Most of the time I tend to shy away from the conventional methods of making a point, and nearly all the time you may not like what I have to say because you’d be disappointed altogether on the solution I have. Before I proceed with a few tips that would make you engage your readers into dropping intelligent comments on your blog, let me quickly brush your memory with a famous quote of Norman Vincent Peale, I love the quote because it prevents me from negative thoughts. A negative thought for one second has the capacity to pull you down for one day.
“Believe it is possible to solve your problem. Tremendous things happen to the believer. So believe the answer will come. It will. – Norman Vincent Peale.
Basically, the first thing you need to do is to believe you can encourage your readers to leave comments on your blog and that can only be achieved by having the right mindset.

You will always gravitate to the direction of your thoughts, if you believe you won’t get comments, it becomes a reality just as the reverse.
That said and haven positioned your mind, let us examine these 5 tips that should encourage your readers to commenting on your blog and give you unfair advantages.
5. Comment On Other Blogs
There is a universal rule of wealth and that is; the more you give, the more you receive. We can equally equate this phenomenon to your blog. To get more comments, you need to comment more on other blogs within the same niche as yours.
Doing so, you begin to expose your blog and most of the time; the author would be tempted to check out your blog. If you drop a very intelligent comment, you would most likely attract more people.
Do you know the author of a blog you commented on could also be your blog reader? No single person has a monopoly of knowledge, so don’t ever think that you can’t convert your favorite author to your reader. Sounds impossible right? But that’s how it works, you wouldn’t know unless you give it a try.
4. Hassle-Free Commenting System
Let me tell you the truth; internet users are lazy and they exhibit these characteristics when it’s time to leave a comment on a blog. I say this because I am that kind of guy; if I visit a blog and after reading I am slammed with cumbersome methods of commenting on a post, I make reservations not to spend additional seconds figuring out how to leave a reply.
The first thing you will need to do to make your comment area not off-putting is to dump every annoying comment captcha you have running on your blog. For WordPress users, you can learn how to stop spam on your blog. If you are using Blogger, you can use Disqus commenting System to combat spam.
3. Reply Most Comments
I would have said reply every comment you have on your blog, but I would be a complete joke to recommend that when I know I can’t do the same. The key to building a powerful community is to engage your readers by answering their questions as well as being polite with the process.
When readers see that you are a blogger that care about them, they would be free to drop comments knowing that they would get a reply from you.

Answering questions doesn’t mean you have to give solutions to all problems. If you are offering a premium service and someone inquires about something similar, you can simply ask him to send you a mail and then you could initiate the payment for your services. 🙂
2. Be A Master Of Your Blog Posts
As a blogger, a lot of people look up to you. They expect you to be original; they can already tell your personality from reading your articles. This is where you have to be a master and let the trust of your readers on you continue to grow. Write like you are talking to someone, you don’t have to be too official; I mean, the guys in CNN and Fox News have locked-down the word “official”. You don’t have to be like them, create your own style and know when to ask questions. A little bit of controversy won’t be a bad idea either.
Do you ending your articles with a little snippet like this; “I would love to get your opinion on this?” could make a big difference? I had a commenter who was really amazed because I asked what his thought was. How did I know? His comment said it all and that made me realize where the conversion was coming from.
1. Reward Your Commenters
Reward your commenters and they will reward you with intelligent comments. I know you hate those links on your comment section and you are wondering how Problogger gets unbelievable amount of comment without this reward. That’s not an out-of-place question, I love curiosity but those guys have paid huge scarifies in the past, and what you see now is only a reward of their hardwork.
Now, that you haven’t paid such sacrifices or invested so much on your blog, you could be less greedy with your comment section. Show the love by downloading and installing CommentLuv on your WordPress blog.
This plugin will let your readers leave one link to their recent article. I have it running on my blog and I love it, not because it encourages comment but because it makes it easy to quickly locate the blogs of readers who also equate as bloggers.
Over To You
I have written so much already and I am guessing you have gotten something from this articles. I love to write experimental things, this is what has worked for me. I would also like to hear from you, what did you do to engage your readers?
