PayPal is still one of the most reliable payment processors in the world but unfortunately, they have been unable to effectively serve some countries. A friend of mine in India said payments sent to their PayPal account doesn’t reside on their PayPal account but transferred directed to their bank accounts which is ridiculous to me, although better than being without an option. However, in Nigeria and a few other countries in Africa, the situation is worse as they are completely invisible in PayPal’s supported countries.
This can be really frustrating, especially for legitimate people living in such regions. A blogger lamented his frustration on his Facebook timeline, how his account was permanently limited without options of appeal with nearly $1000 stucked in his account.
Goodnews! PayPal will naturally send you a mail containing their final decision on your limited PayPal account. Your account becomes practically useless but PayPal isn’t going to take your money forever, they will only confiscate your entire money for a period of 180 days, after which you would be granted access to withdraw your money to your bank account.
For those in Africa who don’t have a US bank account, you can easily create a Payoneer account, using the U.S bank account that would be given to you after successful registration. Once that is concluded and you have a U.S bank account, you can follow the steps below to get your money and kiss goodbye to PayPal.
Getting Back Your PayPal Funds
1. On your PayPal account, quickly locate “My Account”
2. Select “Withdraw”
3. Click “Withdraw to your bank account”
Hint: PayPal allows a minimum withdrawer of $10
4. Fill in the amount you intend to withdraw, I will advise you withdraw everything since the account is basically useless.
5. Click “Continue” to confirmation your option and then hit “Submit” button.

Once this is completed, PayPal will transfer your funds to your U.S bank account provided within 3 – 7 working days. Those living in Nigeria who use the bank account provided by Payoneer can easily withdraw their money on any ATM that has the master card logo.
That’s about it, if you encountered any problem, feel free to share it on the comment box. 🙂
